Workshops
Our workshops provide a valuable alternative to our longer vacation schemes and can be particularly beneficial to post graduates and final-year non-law students looking for their first exposure to life in a leading law firm.

Winter workshops
Featuring similar case studies and seminars as well as time in two of our practice areas, our two-day winter workshops are a condensed version of our vacation schemes. They provide a great opportunity to experience working at Clifford Chance, to meet some of our people and to get a feeling for the kinds of challenges we help our clients to address.
What the students say
Winter workshops are a great way to gain an insight into life and work at Clifford Chance. It's an intensive two-day programme that will help you to decide on the next steps in your legal career search. But don't take our word for it - here's what some of the students who attended our most recent winter workshops made of the experience.
‘Everything was informative and enjoyable. It was also well judged - probably the most you could have fitted into two days.'
‘I found the experience very enjoyable; the atmosphere was relaxed yet the event was very organised. I found all of the Clifford Chance representatives approachable and helpful, the activities have given me a much better appreciation of what it would be like to work at the firm and helped me consolidate the reasons why I want to be a commercial lawyer.'
'Everyone was very helpful and very friendly, and I was pleased with the nature and extent of the content of the workshop.'
‘I would just like to say that I found the rough guide to the Finance and Capital Markets Practices particularly enjoyable and informative. I also found the casestudies useful as an insight into the sort of work that I can expect in each of the relevant practice areas. It was also really useful to meet some GDL students during the speed networking exercise.'
‘I was nervous at first but I found it all very informative and also extremely enjoyable. The two-day format is also appreciated - it was useful for a final year student who does not break up from university until the 22nd December!'
‘The winter workshop experience was just what I was looking for and I would certainly recommend it to someone who, like me, is in his or her final year of a non-law degree.'
How to make the most of your winter workshop - hints and tips
- Get involved - be open to meeting people, introduce yourself, ask questions and look for opportunities to learn more. Talk to trainees and other workshop students about their experiences and perceptions. This will help you to build a more detailed picture of the firm and to make comparisons with other firms and schemes.
- Come prepared - two-days will fly past so make sure you are both ready to learn and to show your own abilities and talents. In such a condensed period it may even be worth preparing questions and identifying particular areas that you want to find out about. Remember, everyone here was once a newcomer and they'll be happy to answer your questions.
- Be professional but do relax and be yourself - you're not only here to gain insights into a a law career and Clifford Chance but also to meet people and to network.

Insight workshops
Places on our vacation schemes and winter workshops are very popular and we are not always able to make offers to all the people we would like to meet. However, if you do not secure a place on one of our vacation schemes or winter workshops, there is still the opportunity to be selected for one of our one-day workshops. Incorporating key elements of the vacation schemes, they are designed to provide you with an insight into life at Clifford Chance through case studies, talks and skills sessions. As such, they are a great opportunity to find out what we can offer you before you consider making a training contract application.
