Culture and principles
Major law firms, particularly those described as ‘Magic Circle' can be hard to separate. We do broadly the same kind of work and cover the same fields of commercial law. Despite our evident scale, Clifford Chance is a relatively young firm - created by the merging of two London-based firms in the 1980s. Our rapid growth since then has been characterised by ambition and a pioneering spirit, a willingness to do things differently and to be the first mover. We are determined to be the leader of an elite group of international law firms and to top the profession in all the markets in which we practise.
