Clifford Chance advised a joint venture of Qatari Diar Real Estate and CPC Group on the acquisition of the Chelsea Barracks site for £959 million, backed by a record £1.25 billion of Islamic financing. Structuring the ground-breaking transaction involved a large team of lawyers from our Real Estate, Finance and Tax practices.

Co-ordination and creativity were required in equal measure to address the many challenges presented by the size of the site, the use of Islamic financing, the joint venture structure and the client’s ambitions for the development.
