I was looking for a leading law firm with a global presence. Only a handful of firms offer the type of international network and the real opportunities for multi-jurisdictional work that Clifford Chance offers, and this international focus really appealed to me.

Clifford Chance also has an unrivalled depth of knowledge and experience, which plays through to the quality and breadth of the training. The firm has industry-leading experts in so many different areas of practice, which it draws upon to facilitate its training programmes.

I genuinely learned a considerable amount during each seat of my training contract - of course about the specific practice areas in which I worked, but also more generally about the role of law and the tensions that can arise with the practicalities of business. I also undoubtedly improved my attention to detail, the precision of my writing as well as my analytical and organisational skills.

I'm grateful to have been given the opportunity to work in Hong Kong. Having thoroughly enjoyed my six months here as a trainee in 2010, I was pleased to be able to return on qualification. In the Finance department I now work on a range of insolvency and restructuring, leveraged finance and general banking matters, including some involving colleagues in our new Australian offices.
